IPhone X screen 'freezing' in cold weather, but fix is coming

This isn't quite what iPhone X owners are facing though, which is probably Apple has been quick to respond to their complaints.

(Web Desk) - The latest flagship phone by Apple, iPhone X, has been found to have a major glitch in its touch screen which can turn unresponsive when subjected to cold weather. "This will be addressed in an upcoming software update", Apple said in a statement.

Technology giant Apple on Thursday confirmed that there are concerns regarding the responsiveness of iPhone X's screen during extreme temperatures.

Users have taken a Reddit thread to complain that the iPhone X's screen becomes unresponsive when they step outside into the cold. It literally takes two seconds from going inside to the cold outdoors and my screen stops being very responsive.

It hasn't even been ten days since the release of the iPhone X and we have already started to see some issues cropping up. Meanwhile, if you have any other queries or questions, or have any feedbacks to share with us, kindly drop them here into the comments section. The update can be downloaded by visiting to Settings General Software Update and then check for update.

Apple surely hopes the problem is not widespread, especially as the weather is just starting to get cold in large parts of the country. One of the responses surmised the issue lies in software, adding that locking and unlocking the screen seems to do the trick when it happens.

The issue emerged when people updated their phones to version 11.1 of the iOS operating system.

Others have floated the idea that most iOS device screens are unresponsive outside Apple's recommended temperature range of between 32 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and that it's most pronounced on a device with a physical home button. One user reported Face ID fails outside as well.
