The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections voted a year ago to purchase 1,450 electronic poll books from Tenex Software Solutions of Tampa, Florida to replace the alphabetical paper poll books that are printed for each election.

The release states that notices were posted at all polling places, reminding voters they may vote only once for cross-filed candidates in the same race.

According to a news release, the county's Elections and Voter Registrations Department learned about the issue the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 6, but it was determined to be too late to re-program machines that had already been sent out to 159 election districts.

Pennsylvania's election involved over 9,100 polling places.
