'The Crown' Season 2 New Trailer and Poster

The couple's problems only look to be intensifying in season 2 though, as this new trailer shows us.

This is the last season for Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II since The Night Manager star Olivia Coleman has been roped in to play the older day Queen for season three and four of the series.

The second series of The Crown will premiere on Netflix on December 8.

The cast of season two includes John Lithgow as Winston Churchill, Michael C Hall as President John F. Kennedy, Jodi Balfour as Jackie Kennedy, and Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret.

Playing the character of the British Monarch got Claire Foy her first Golden Globe award this year.

"One more scandal or national embarrassment, and it will all be over".

The latest trailer, soundtracked by the Flamingos' doo-wop classic "I Only Have Eyes for You", once again showcases the massive scope and detail that went into the period drama, as well as Foy's Golden Globe-winning portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Crown, based on the play The Audience, is created and written by Peter Morgan, directed by Stephen Daldry and produced by Andy Harries. With Her Majesty's Armed Forces fighting an illegal war in Egypt, Elizabeth struggles to find a balance between the country's traditional values and the new "modern era".

The Crown continues to chronicle the major political and global events that have defined and shaped the second half of the twentieth century - a series that is unprecedented in its scale, ambition and creative vision.
