WWE Makes History At Smackdown Live Taping In United Kingdom

During the tapings for tonight's SmackDown Live in Manchester, Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to become the new WWE Champion (and I must say, even though I am not a fan of Jinder's match, that other than some scary spots, this was easily Mahal's best WWE match to date).

The Phenomenal One has been stunning since his remarkable debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble as he went on to pick up some huge wins against the likes of John Cena, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens.

-Jinder Mahal vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.

Mahal has the worst win-loss record out of any WWE Champion in history and went from jobber straight to world champion.

- As noted, Sin Cara took to Twitter on Monday to confirm that he suffered an ankle injury during the Triple Threat with Sami Zayn and WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin at Sunday's live event in Spain. So two title matches are now confirmed for Smackdown next week.

-Rusev vs. Randy Orton (Rusev will qualify for Team Smackdown at Survivor Series with a win).

Styles and Mahal have also main evented the SmackDown brand house shows in non-title matches on their European tour up until now, with Styles winning all of those. "It remains to be seen if Styles steps into the Lesnar match or what exactly will happen". The assumption is that Mahal is out and Styles will be the one to face Brock Lesnar.
