Revanth Reddy Resigned TDP; Joined Congress in Presence of Rahul Gandhi

Along with Revanth Reddy, several TDP leaders will also join Congress tomorrow.

On his resignation, the minister said that he will fight the corruption spread by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The sulking episode of Revanth Reddy has finally come to an end.

Former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) senior leader Revanth Reddy after submitting his resignation from all party posts said he will join the Congress after meeting vice-president Rahul Gandhi. Opposition leader K. Jana Reddy announced his party's decision to stage walkout from the House even as Legislative Affairs Minister T. Harish Rao said the House would leave the decision to Mr. Jana Reddy's wisdom as the opposition leader conveyed his intentions even before the Chair took a decision on the adjournment.

With his departure, the TDP in Telangana is now left with just two MLAs, as 12 of its 15 legislators had defected to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) previous year. R.C. Kuntia, TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and others were present on the occasion. "Such ups and downs happen in politics", he added. Among them is A. Revanth Reddy, who resigned last week from TDP and the Telengana assembly.

Revanth Reddy joined with 48 leaders who shifted from Telugu Desam Party.

Sources say Rahul Gandhi is in touch with a set of young leaders in Telangana, as in other States, who keep him updated on developments in the state unit.

"I have regained confidence over the Congress party with Revanth Reddy deciding to join the party". The Congress party can not change their stand during every session.
