HMD Global Launches Affordable Nokia 2 with Powerful Battery

India, which is already among the top three markets for HMD Global, the makers of Nokia phones, has the potential to be its biggest market, said HMD Global CEO, Florian Seiche, on Tuesday.

The device comes with a large 4,100mAh battery that the company claims should provide two days of full battery should you use the phone for five hours a day.

Priced at 99 euros, the Nokia 2 comes with a 5-inch LTPS LCD 720p display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor clubbed with 1GB of RAM under the hood, and 8GB of internal memory which is further expandable by up to 128GB via a micro-SD card slot. The Nokia 2 is a very affordable smartphone that runs pure Android Nougat and packs a massive 4,100 mAh battery. The price of the Nokia 2 is set at Euro 99 and the exact Indian price will be unveiled sometime before the official sale. "Every component of the Nokia 2 - from the display to battery, chipset to system design - has been engineered to draw as little power as possible from the huge battery", said Sarvikas. Both phones have some pros and cons. Nokia 2 looks like a good option, but its price in India has not been revealed just yet.

Features- Apart from the stock Android, the Nokia 2 will also feature Google Assistant, with the option to get search results in Hindi. However, we will update you soon when we will get more information about it. As for the price, HMD Global has only announced the worldwide pricing of the handset, $99 which roughly translates to about Rs 7,000.

With the Nokia 2, HMD Global is planning to tap into the ultra-cheap smartphone segment and increase its market share in the country. The sale of Nokia 2 smartphone will starts in Mid November. The Nokia 2 only falls short in the hardware department. As numbers have nothing to with the performance, the Nokia 2 should be able to perform better with respect to camera capability (considering history). Moreover, all this is an upgrade to what was reported regarding the Nokia 2 until now. Honestly, if you care about the design, Nokia 2 may be the flawless device for you. Another big feature of Nokia 2 smartphone is the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection on the screen. It will also be available in 3 colours - Copper Black, Pewter Black, and Pewter White. On the other hand the 4A features a polycarbonate body, yet feels premium.

Is 2-day battery life enough to beat Xiaomi's Redmi 4 & Redmi 4A?

The Lumia Camera UI was created by Nokia for its Windows Phone smartphones. However, the plastic build quality will not impress us in front of metal build on the Nokia 2.

Software- In terms of software, the device will come with Android Nougat 7.1.1 which is a first for a phone in this segment. The handset also supports live video streaming to Facebook and YouTube from the built-in camera.
