JKPS Kunjwani celebrates Birth Anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel

The nation paid tributes to Patel on his birth anniversary today and "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" (National Unity Day) was observed. However, the youth of India respects him and his contribution towards the building of our nation.

At Changlang, DC Wayong Khimhun paid tributes to the portrait of Sardar Patel and administered unity pledge to the participants.

"The then Prime Minister did not give free hand to Sardar Patel in its efforts to consolidate national unity but in spite of that Patel did the miracle to integrate hundreds of princely sates in India without any bloodshed", he said.

Paying rich tribute to Sardar Patel, the PM said he had not only saved the country from the difficulties faced immediately after Independence, but also succeeded in uniting the entire nation.

"There have been attempts to run down Sardar Patel, to ensure that his contribution is forgotten".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Rajnath Singh, minister of state for youth affairs and sports Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore flagging off the Run For Unity from the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.

"PM Modi also said", His momentous service and monumental contribution to India can never be forgotten". Near the India Gate C-Hexagon-Shah Jahan Road radial, the 1.5km run came to an end. "The cover has stamps and stationeries issued for Sardar Patel at different times by the Government of India".

"India is a country full of diversity".

PM Modi was speaking at the Dhyan Chand Stadium, Delhi on the occassion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. The event was flagged off by Union Minister Jual Oram.

Referring to the high moral standards followed by the late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Mr Naidu said he never allowed his son to remain in Delhi while he was part of the government.

A programme "Run for Unity" was also organized at Patia Chhak in Bhubaneswar to commemorate the birth anniversary of "Iron Man" of India.
