Emma Released By WWE

Raw superstar Emma has been released from the WWE with immediate effect, the company has confirmed.

The Australian's axeing came as even more of a surprise considering it had been less than a week since she fought Asuka at Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

WWE worked out releases for three superstars over the past week and the list really is surprising.

Lio Rush then wished Emma good luck on her post-WWE career because she is an "amazing performer" and a "respected athlete". Rae joined the main roster on April of 2013 when she appeared as Fandango's valet on an episode of Raw. But just one year later, she was sent back to NXT and debuted a different character.

She was promoted to the main roster in January of 2014 and performed in her first match on Monday Night Raw in February of the same year. As noted earlier, she is among the names that were released on Sunday. Darren Young just recently returned to the road after elbow surgery, and Summer Rae hasn't been seen on WWE television since July of 2016.

Without a clear reason why Emma was released, people on Twitter began to discuss what the possibility would be.

Darren Young had been somewhat lost in obscurity over the last few months, outside of being paired up with WWE legend Bob Backlund.

Summer Rae is the third release to be mentioned on Sunday.

Much of this, it should be said, owes not to her own shortcomings but to the creative team's continual lack of direction.
