Nvidia announces GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GPU; starting price is Rs. 39000

Nvidia superfans will already know that this brings the core count of the 1070 Ti close to the GTX 1080, which has 2560 CUDA cores.

Other than that, GTX 1070 Ti also has higher base clock speed at 1607MHz as opposed to GTX 1070's 1506MHz clock speed although both cards still have the same 1683MHz boost clock speed.

Nvidia is also positioning the 1070 Ti as an upgrade specifically for the company's last-generation GTX 970 GPU, noting that the new card offers twice the performance of the popular older model.

Currently, Nvidia has opened up pre-orders for the GTX 1070 Ti with the Founders Edition which launches at $449 - $50 less than the GTX 1080.

The company has priced its latest GPU starting at Rs 39,000 which may vary depending on the NIVIDIA's partners in the market that include MSI, Zotac, Asus, Gigabyte, Palit, Galax, Inno3D, and PNY. The price of the GTX 1070 has not received a price cut yet. The street price will vary due to the existence of cryptocurrency mining.

The key difference is that where the 1080 enables the full GP104 chip, the GTX 1070 Ti disables one SMM cluster of 128 cores. Inside are 2,432 cores and 8 GB of memory.

It also ships with the same 1607 MHz base clock that the 1080 has which can boost up to a maximum of 1683 MHz in comparison to the 1733 MHz boost of the 1080. The GTX 1070 Ti is being marketed as a mid-step option for those who want something more powerful than the GTX 1070, but can not afford the more costly GTX 1080. The GTX 1070 Ti uses 8GBps GDDR5 RAM.

With this new GPU, gamers will be able to play at 2,560×1,440 or ultra-wide 1080p monitors at the highest graphics quality settings.
