Starting to develop a much better relationship with Pakistan

In his latest tweet though, Trump claims that he's starting to develop a much better relationship with Pakistan and its leaders.

"I have openly said Pakistan took tremendous advantage of our country for many years, but we're starting to have a real relationship with Pakistan, and they're to respect us as a nation again, and so are other nations", Trump said.

Later, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif visited the USA and held important meetings with State secretary and other officials and presented Pakistan's stance.

Interestingly, it was on October 12 that a Canadian citizen, his USA national wife and their three children were recovered from the custody of terrorists by the Pakistan Army - around five years after their abduction in Afghanistan.

The couple was kidnapped in October 2012 while on a backpacking trip that took them to Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, and then to Afghanistan.

Trump had slammed Pakistan for its continued support to terrorist groups and warned Islamabad of consequences if it continues to do so while announcing his Afghan and South Asia policy in August.

"We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time [when] they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting", he said, warning that the vital aid the U.S. offers to the country could be cut.

Trump did not disclose what country or any details involved but said: "One of my generals came in and they said, you know, I have to tell you, a year ago they would have never done that". The announcement said that the next meeting of the group comprising officials from the US, China, Pakistan and Afghanistan would be held in Oman's capital Muscat on 16 October. "Time and again, Pakistan has done it and taken some small steps to deflect pressure", the source, who has sat in multiple meetings with current and past U.S. administration officials, said.

"That will have to change and that will change immediately".

He praised the Pakistani government and armed forces for the cooperation to rescue the family in an operation. We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting. "Pakistanis have acted true to their form to give the impression about their seriousness", he said. "The US under President Trump believes in transactional relationships and this is an example of that", he said.
