James Corden slammed for inappropriate Harvey Weinstein jokes at Hollywood gala

Many people, including two women who have accused Weinstein of rape, said Corden's jokes on Friday made light of the allegations at the heart of the scandal. "So lovely, Harvey Weinstein has already asked tonight up to his hotel to give him a massage". Ask any of the women who watched him take a bath.it's weird watching Harvey Weinsten in hot water.

A week after Saturday Night Live was slammed for ignoring the ongoing scandal, Corden opened his emcee set with the issue in a room full of Hollywood A listers.

Corden's first joke was met with audile groans which the "Late Late Host" countered with: "I don't know if whether that groan was because you liked that joke or don't like that joke". Weinstein is now embroiled in scandal as he faces an enormous number of accusations of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

"It has been weird this week, though, watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water", Corden continued. "If you don't like the joke, you should probably leave right now".

"I am truly sorry for anyone offended, that was never my intention".

The New York Times reported that in 1997 Weinstein reached "a previously undisclosed settlement with Rose McGowan" after an alleged episode in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival.

Italian actress Asia Argento, one of his Weinstein's accusers, chided Corden on Sunday on Twitter, saying "shame on this pig".

Corden, like so many actors, has an association with the disgraced producer in that Weinstein was executive producer on the 2013 film One Chance, a biopic about Britain's Got Talent victor Paul Potts.

In another instance, he made light of Lauren Sivan's account of her experience with the producer: "Harvey Weinstein wanted to come tonight, but he'll settle for whatever potted plant is closest".

Corden, who emceed the charity event, kicked off his monologue there by saying, "This is a attractive room".
