Seth McFarlane Comments On Harvey Weinstein Allegations

Seth MacFarlane, best known for creating Family Guy, has revealed the motivations behind a joke made about Harvey Weinstein at the Oscars in 2013.

"It's worth remembering that nearly a year ago, Trump tried to silence and bully the 12 women who accused him of sexual harassment by viciously attacking them and even threatening to sue them", Meyers said, before rolling clips of Trump insisting his accusers were liars.

Let the record show that Seth MacFarlane's joke about Harvey Weinstein during the 2013 Academy Awards nominations telecast was meant as a "hard swing" at the scandal-embroiled film producer.

During her appearance on CNN on Thursday, Barth encouraged victims of sexual harassment to come forward with their accusations.

In light of the allegations against the producer, which are claims that he has been sexually harassing female employees for the last 30 years, including the likes of Cara Delevingne, Angelina Jolie and Ashley Judd, Seth received backlash for the fact he was seemingly aware of what was happening four years ago and failed to act.

MacFarlane wasn't the only comedian to reference Weinstein's alleged sexual misdeeds long before the New York Times story made them public; Tina Fey's hit NBC sitcom 30 Rock took aim at Weinstein on two occasions, with Jane Krakowski's character Jenna Maroney noting, "I have turned down sex with Harvey Weinstein on no less than three occasions".

Barth's experience was reported by The New Yorker and, like many others, involved meeting Weinstein in a hotel room. "He alternated between that and asking me to give him a naked massage in the bed".

"At first he started talking about career stuff, and how he wanted to fly me to NY and give me a role in Sarah Jessica parker's new film", Barth recalled on CNN's "New Day" morning show.

Meyers accused Trump of misogynistic behavior, particularly toward San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz, saying he shares Weinstein's traits of dominance and power abuse. "I respect and applaud my friend Jessica and those sharing their stories for their decision to come forward, and for being champions of the truth".

Overnight, Weinstein broke his silence on the damning allegations which have continued to surface over the past five days, admitting that he "encouraged" his wife of 10 years to leave him. "Though I'm trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go".
