Huawei Quietly Launches Android Oreo Beta Program For Mate 9

Just a week away from the rumored public launch, the Huawei Mate 10 appears online.

Huawei will be unveiling the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro smartphones at a global media event on the 16 in Munich, Germany. According to this poster, the Huawei Mate 10 will indeed come with a 6.2-inch display.

Regardless of the stipulations involved with the Mate 9, the Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro are certain to be the first Huawei devices to come equipped with Android Oreo. It is expected to come with a bezel-less display and a screen ratio of 18:9 similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The most attractive feature of the Huawei Mate 10 is its Kirin 970 processor for amazingly faster performance.

The poster has also revealed the presence of Leica branded dual camera setup on the back of the phone with 20-megapixel and 23-megapixel sensors. The image also shows that the test is limited to 250 participants, but the company could have multiple tests for different regions. At least in the case of the Mate 10 Pro, it is an either hate it or love it design thanks to the insertion that houses the camera lenses. When it unveiled the Kirin 970 last month, it boasted about how its AI-based image processing does wonders for the photos that the phone produces, comparing it with Samsung's own output. Huawei doesn't exactly say what'll happen after November 3, but this is likely when it'll finalize the software and put any finishing touches on the build of Oreo before releasing it to all Mate 9 owners.

The smartphone will pack a 4,000mAh Li-ion battery, the same battery capacity as its predecessors.

Earlier a handset from the house of Huawei was spotted on Geekbench running Android 8.0 Oreo while officially the device hasn't received any update, we are talking about the Huawei Mate 9 here.
