Marvel's Runaways: Hulu Releases First Teaser for New Series

Kids all know their parents are the devil.

Marvel's Runaways premieres November 21 on Hulu with its first three episodes.

This trailer should therefore come as relative relief to fans who were anxious that the uniquely stylized tone of the source comic (part of Marvel's now-defunct anime-inspired "Tsunami" imprint) wouldn't translate well into a live-action series. Some have already pointed out their frustrations that the directors did not cast a larger actress for the part of Gert, who is a bigger in the comics, something that a lot of people looked up to and what made Runaways stand apart. As the teens learn that they've inherited certain powers from their parents, they band together as their own dysfunctional family, and fight for all that's good.

Runaways the comic book originally came out in 2003 and lasted only a year, but this September the comic came back in a prelude to the new TV series. Just your average set of #TeenProblems, brought to you by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the team behind The O.C. and Gossip Girl. While one review called the pilot "Hulu's Stranger Things", it is definitely not apparent in the trailer.

The series stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virgina Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin (Faking It), and Allegra Acosta.

Hulu's Marvel's Runaways panel at New York Comic Con got wild on Friday night when the network surprised con-goers with the world premiere of the series (plus, a teaser clip of the rest of the 10-episode season).
