Referring to Anurag Thakur's comments that the Congress loses the election wherever Gandhi goes, Singh said making remarks to mislead people was part of the BJP leader's style.

The BJP has criticised the Congress government in the state for organising the rally and "misusing" the official machinery.

Targeting Prime Minister Modi's Gujarat development model, the Lok Sabha parliamentarian from Amethi said Himachal Pradesh had seen more development than Gujarat in just the last five years.

He said the "wrong implementation" of the GST has caused several hardships to small traders and narrated how a shopkeeper, who also sells a mixture of dry fruits in small packets, told him he was in a quandary. "And the ground situation is that 30,000 job seekers are being added every 24 hours but only 450 persons are getting jobs per day while our competitor China is giving jobs to 50,000 persons every day". "This was the biggest blow on the Indian economy", he said in his hard hitting speech.

Referring to the plight of farmers, Gandhi said that maximum suicides are taking place in the BJP-ruled states. "But they give only speeches", he said.

Rahul Gandhi is a youth leader who chosen as the Vice President of the Congress in 2013 for the Assembly elections of 2014.

"The fall in GDP by 2 per cent speaks in volumes about mismanagement of the economic reforms".

On laying the foundation of a Rs 1,350 crore 750-bed AIIMS hospital in Bilaspur town by the Prime Minister on October 3, he said the government has provided land to AIIMS as demanded by the Union Health Ministry.

"It is a betrayal of the people of the state and acceptance of defeat", Dutt added.
