WCW legend's son reacts to WWE returning War Games

At the latest round of NXT tapings, it was announced WWE is planning the first "official" Wargames match in nearly two decades at its next NXT Takeover event in Houston on November 18, the night before Survivor Series.

The match begins with a one-on-one fight for five minutes until another wrestler from either team is selected to enter the match every two minutes.

Thirty-two variations of WarGames were held from 1987-98 and in 2000, 16 of which were contested from 1987-89.

War Games, which was a premiere match type created by the legendary Dusty Rhodes, was featured in the NWA and then WCW during their annual Fall Brawl pay-per-view event.

After almost 20 years, the WWE will be reviving the classic WCW WarGames match for next month's NXT: TakeOver special.

Prior to the days of WWE being the sole powerhouse in professional wrestling, there lived World Championship Wrestling (WCW) who rivaled WWE for years in the Monday Night Wars. It's very similar to that of the Elimination Chamber, however, this is in a team format.

NXT Takeover: WarGames takes place November 18 in Houston, the night before Survivor Series.

Powell's POV: The show streams on WWE Network at 7CT/8ET.
