Android Oreo finally sees a part in latest Android distribution statistics

These devices probably account for 0.2 percent of market share for Android Oreo.

The latest Android distribution figures cover the period to the 2nd of October 2017.

Just last week, a report has shown that Apple has 26 percent of devices running on its latest iOS 11 software, a week after its public release.

Android OS is fragmented owing to tons of devices with different screen resolutions and size and availability of different android version on different smartphones. So unless people upgrade their Android handsets regularly, this disparity in Android distributions is set to continue. Now that the season is upon us, Google has released the beta of the next Android Wear update.

Despite such attractive features, Oreo still has a long way to go before it overtakes previous versions of Android - Marshmellow, and Nougat.

Google has been working on a new update for its Android Wear platform.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is on the lion's share of devices, with some 32% running the OS; the newer Android Nougat has a a 15.8% share.

The website also said that they haven't taken any data which has 0.1 percent distribution. And surely will acknowledge more if apply the Android Wear to more watches.

It's been a month since Android 8.0 Oreo begun rolling out to select devices. The hierarchy ends with Android KitKat (14.5%), Android Jelly Bean (7.6%), Android Ice Cream Sandwich (0.6%) and Android Gingerbread (0.6%). It is followed by Android Lollipop that is running on 27.7 percent devices. The almost two-and-half-year old OS still continues to dominate Android's charts, and many phones remain on Marshmallow, especially budget ones.
