Ronaldo: I'll never forget Manchester United

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Jose Mourinho is testing Luke Shaw to see if he has the mentality to succeed at the club.

The 22-year-old was plagued with injuries last season and has had a turbulent time at Old Trafford since arriving from Southampton three years ago.

The Portuguese global made a then world-record breaking £80m move to Real Madrid after scoring 118 goals in all competitions in 292 appearances. I thought it was a game in that day because (there were so) many people.

"When I landed here in Madrid I started to feel the atmosphere, I thought it was a game that day because all these people came just to see me".

But despite his explosive success with the Spanish giants, the striker has always remained grateful to the Old Trafford fans and Alex Ferguson that had faith in him during his Red Devil days, He said: "I will never forget the Red Devils". It was an unbelievable day.

The Portuguese striker now holds the record for the all-time highest goalscorer in Champions League history (109 goals) but has failed to score in La Liga this season as Madrid sit fifth-placed.

"Inside the pitch, the most important thing is to win trophies", he told former United team-mate Rio Ferdinand for Nike Football. "If you have talent and you work hard, you can be a huge player". If you get up then he says yes, that's the type of man I want in my team.

The recently retired Leon McKenzie, who played for Norwich City among other top tier sides, failed in his own bid to win England and Southern Area belts over the past year.

He then went back to 2009, when he was first unveiled in front of Real Madrid fans.

"10 years? In 10 years it will be tough". I did a fantastic season and I've improved every season. "Maybe I'll do boxing like you!" he said.
