Marilyn Manson Cancels Tour Dates After Stage Prop Accident

After taking a fall in Pittsburgh on Friday night and telling the audience that he "broke his ankle", alt-metal legend Marilyn Manson was more seriously injured the next night in NY when a large stage prop fell on top of him. Variety reported that Manson fell backward onstage and a prop fell on him.

The music stopped when they realized Manson wasn't getting back up, as production crewmembers rushed to the star's aid. Manson's latest album, Heaven Upside Down, is scheduled to be released Friday.

The incident occurred roughly an hour into Manson's concert, the third date on the North American leg of Manson's Heaven Upside Down tour.

The postponed dates include Boston, Chicago, Toronto and Houston.

It is not yet known if the scrapped concerts will be rescheduled.

Of course, fans attending the NYC show caught the incident on camera, and have spread videos of the falling props and images of Manson being whizzed off to hospital shortly afterwards.

Nine dates of Marilyn Manson's tour have subsequently been cancelled while he recovers from his injury.

"Marilyn Manson is being forced to cancel several of his October dates on his forthcoming USA tour", his rep tells Us.

Eyewitnesses from the concert, which took place at Hammerstein Ballroom, said the singer lay on stage for around 15 minutes before he was taken away on a stretcher.

Concertgoer Yousif Al Zaid told The Guardian that Manson attempted to climb onto the prop guns.

The severity of Manson's injuries has not yet been announced. The show was stopped when two giant pistols and their supporting frame toppled onto him, and he was later taken to a hospital.
