Ronald Koeman: 'Players' commitment can not be questioned'

Republic of Ireland striker Jon Walters will miss Burnley's Premier League game at Everton on Sunday and faces a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, manager Sean Dyche has confirmed.

Everton remain stranded in 16th place, Burnley moved up to sixth, but Koeman said the commitment of his team should spike any debate about whether he should carry on in his role.

Burnley's Irish midfielder Robbie Brady (L) celebrates on the pitch with Burnley's English midfielder Jack Cork (C) and Burnley's Irish defender Stephen Ward (R) after the English Premier League football match between Everton and Burnley at Goodison Park in Liverpool, north west England on October 1, 2017.

Koeman has now admitted that his side have no more excuses and said, "It's not time to find any more excuses".

Hopefully I can be fit enough to be available for England and get a chance to play and get the win that would ensure our qualification for the World Cup in Russian Federation next year.

"If we don't win, the newspaper will be totally different".

2 - Everton have already lost as many @premierleague games at Goodison Park this season as they did in the whole of 2016/17 (2). "We can play when we need to, and be longer and stronger when we have to - but we can defend too".

"We will go on, we will continue, because what I saw was the way we need to come out of this hard situation".

Ireland need to win their last two games of the current campaign, against Moldova next Friday and Wales the following Monday, to give themselves a chance of qualifying from World Cup qualifying Group D for Russian Federation 2018.

"We tried everything, the commitment and spirit of the players was really positive and the final result was not".

"It is a short session on Saturday, and then we play on Sunday".

"In life you don't get a second opportunity, but I'm not unhappy with what I saw from the team".

"It's not nice to get two weeks in an worldwide break on the back of a defeat but that's football".
