Bale out of Espanyol clash

The Frenchman strongly believes that the game against Espanyol will change things for Madrid this season and give fans the form they are used to seeing.

Portuguese worldwide Cristiano Ronaldo provided the superb assist for the 25-year-old Spaniard who curled the ball at the far corner of the post.

In recent weeks Madrid players including Isco, Benzema and Marco Asensio have all signed new deals and spoken to the media afterwards.

Zidane is confident the Portugal worldwide, still waiting for his first goal of a LaLiga campaign that got off to a delayed start due to a five-match suspension, will not be distracted ahead of Sunday's match with Espanyol.

"I have already been presented here as coach", he said.

"We want to keep doing what we've been doing and to win well", he said. He trains with Cristiano [Ronaldo] every day and he is learning from him.

"It is a club issue and I'm not getting involved in it", he said.

Defending league champions Real Madrid are set to miss out on the services of number of big names, as they welcome RCD Espanyol to the Santiago Bernabeu tonight.

Madrid have not officially confirmed any new injury for Bale, but Zidane admitted at a news conference there was a problem, with the Wales worldwide having not taken part in group training since the club's return from Germany and missing Saturday's session along with the injured Marcelo, Mateo Kovacic, Theo Hernandez and Karim Benzema.

With a World Cup qualifier in Georgia looming on Friday, 6 October, Wales will await the result nervously even though Real boss Zinedine Zidane says it is "a small problem".

Gerard Moreno hit the post just before the break, whilst Keylor Navas denied Marc Navarro and Nacho produced a brilliant goal line clearance to prevent Leo Baptistao a tap in.
