Jennifer Lawrence will take a two year break from acting

In a narrative that seems to be in two parts, we begin with the appearance at the door one night of a mysterious, sickly surgeon (Ed Harris as "Man"), who claims to have mistaken the place for a B&B and needs a place to stay.

The 27-year-old actress and 48-year-old director attended the NY premiere of their movie "mother!"

While promoting her new Darren Aronofsky-directed horror-thriller, mother!, and amid controversy over her anti-President Trump climate change comments, Lawrence revealed that she doesn't have another on-screen project lined up for the next two years.

"Mother!" stars Academy Award Winner Jennifer Lawrence as Mother and Academy Award Winner Javier Bardem as Him. For those used to Lawrence playing strong women such as Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games" series, her passive role here amid so much mayhem will come as a surprise.

"I'm taking [a break]. Can we just put them all on an island?"

But surely no-one wants to see a mother being beaten to a pulp for no good reason or her newborn baby being killed and eaten by a mob.

Lawrence announced the news while talking with Savannah Guthrie on the Today show.

According to sources, the Mother! star feels that her feelings of being a mother are getting less and less as she advances with her age. I don't go home like, 'Oh my god! "But that's what makes it a masterpiece and that's what makes Darren so brilliant and that's why I've always wanted to work with him". She is now filming her fourth turn as the shape shifting mutant Mystique in X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Lawrence recently signed on to take the starring role of billionaire tech entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes in Adam McKay's bio-drama Bad Blood. When I am releasing a movie and it's really heavy and really intense and I just know that it will die down. "It's important to just keep a separation and know that the people screaming outside of a premiere, they're screaming because of a job and because of a character".

She continued by saying how grateful for her fans she is, "I'm grateful to them 'cause without fans and people going to see my movie, I wouldn't be able to do what I love".
