Gurgaon woman caught slapping Army jawan repeatedly in video, held

The incident happened on September 9 but was reported to police on September 13, following which a case was registered and the woman was arrested. Her vehicle has been seized by the police. For assaulting an unresisting soldier, the woman was skewered on social media. The soldier was quoted in some media reports as saying she "suddenly" stopped the auto, walked up and starting hitting him.

The incident had taken place in Delhi's Vasant Kunj area.

The police tracked the registration number of Kalra's Indica vehicle. He alleged that the auto was being driven in a zig-zag manner and Kalra refused to give them way. The army subedar asked him to talk to Kalra to explain the situation.

The soldier and other soldiers are seen trying to speak to her, but to no avail. "She hurled abuses at the Army", the FIR said.

She apparently blamed the constable for being an Army personnel after which he came back to the truck and sat in the driver's seat. As the army jawans got down from the truck, the woman sped away in her vehicle.

Soon, she starts to physically assault an Army jawan, who is then saved by his colleague. However, the subedar had asked his colleagues to record a video of the incident which was submitted to the police station on September 13. Police officers said that Kalra was stuck in a traffic snarl just before the incident and had tried to reverse her vehicle and overtake another auto, but was stalled by the Army truck stopping behind her. "Presently she is living with her parents in Gurugram and her vehicle has been seized from her house", Delhi police added.
