Spicer: Melissa McCarthy 'should share' her Emmy

On Sunday, Dave Chappelle won the Emmy for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, his first ever Emmy, for his guest spot on Saturday Night Live on November 12, just after the election.

Melissa McCarthy and Dave Chappelle are Emmy winners, earning trophies for their appearances on Saturday Night Live.

He would talk to "SNL" about appearing on the NBC series, Spicer said in a video posted Monday night on The Blast. Back in February, when the actress first stepped into the gender-flipped role, Spicer criticized her performance as "too mean" and suggested she "dial [it] back".

NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and HBO's "Westworld", the nominations leaders with 22 each, and Netflix's "Stranger Things" tied at the creative arts awards with five trophies apiece. Apparently, the Television Academy Foundation adored it, as well, because McCarthy won a Creative Arts Emmy Award for hosting "SNL".

On Sunday, Alexis Bledel, previously best known for Gilmore Girls, won her first Emmy for her guest role as the quiet but steely Ofglen in the dystopian drama The Handmaid's Tale.

Her performances also had real-life consequences.

The Emmy Awards will air Sunday on CBS.

More than 80 Emmy winners were announced this weekend, including for categories like best casting, lighting and makeup.
