Marist in Top 10 of US News & World Report's 2018 "Best Colleges"

This distinction is in addition to the recognition given to two Marist College online degree programs - the Master of Business Administration and the BA/BS in Professional Studies - which both ranked among the top in U.S. News & World Report's "Best Online Education Programs" for 2017.

Catawba was one of 324 colleges in U.S. News Regional Colleges category, ranked according to geographic region: North, South, Midwest, and West. Schools in this category focus nearly entirely on the undergraduate experience and offer a broad range of programs in the liberal arts (which account for fewer than half of the bachelor's degrees granted) and in fields such as business, nursing and education. The Princeton Review also included the C of I in its 2018 edition of its "Best 382 Colleges", an honor only given to the top 15 percent of America's four-year colleges, while the 2018 "Fiske Guide to Colleges" included the C of I once again in its annual release.

Each ranking focuses on academic quality like graduation, first year retention rates, assessment by administrators at peer institutions, faculty resources, admissions selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving and graduation rate performance. Scores for each measure are weighted to arrive at a final overall score.

Trinity was the only Irish university to make the top one hundred, ranked at 81, up from 88th past year. The lists are composed from data reports that most colleges send to U.S. News.
