'Yakuza 6' United States Release Date Revealed

The intense human drama and magnetic world of Yakuza 6 will be on display in this stunning art book. All of that (plus the actual game) comes in a collectible outer box. But in honour of Yakuza 6 being the final appearance for the series' main protagonist - Kazuma Kiryu, for £79.99 and $89.99 in the United States, you could bag yourself the After Dark Premium Edition. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life was released originally in December of 2016 for Japanese consumers.

According to Sega, anyone that pre-orders the game or buys at release will receive a "Launch edition" that includes a hardcover artbook that will feature some of the game's feature art such as tattoo designs.

In Yakuza 6, Kiryu will find out exactly how much people are willing to sacrifice for family - be those ties through blood or bond - when he investigates a series of shadowy events that involve the ones he holds closest to his heart. That's right! Fights can start on the streets and end in a pile of shattered glass, scattered snacks, and bruised bodies on the floor of the nearest Poppo convenience store.

Today, video game publisher and developer Sega has announced the Western release date for the sixth main entry in the long-running brawler-RPG Yakuza series. It'll launch both physically and digitally and will be the most technologically advanced Yakuza title to date thanks to the "Dragon Engine". With this being the first game to exclusively target the PlayStation 4 and not also have a PS3 release in Japan, expect the Dragon Engine to make the series look better than ever.

Having released in Japan last year, PS4 exclusive Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will release in Europe and Americas next year, physically and digitally.
