IAS officer found dead in Ghaziabad

"The constable named Chand who first found the body at Kotgaon close to Ghaziabad railway station said", I was walking down the tracks and Padmavat Express had just crossed Ghaziabad when a passerby informed me of a body on the tracks. We discovered a suicide note and other documents which helped us ascertain his identity".

The story of the District Magistrate, Mukesh Pandey, who took the step to end his life is heartbreaking. A police team was immediately rushed to the mall but it could not trace him.

"The video is dated August 9". I am recording this at Circuit House in Buxar.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has also condoled the death of Pandey terming him as an “upright officer”.

Mukesh Pandey had left behind a suicide note which read, 'I am committing suicide in district centre area of Janakpuri, west Delhi near Hotel Piccadilly by jumping off the 10th floor of the building. "Whoever finds this video, please inform my parents, wife, in-laws and relatives". The officer had sent a similar SMS to his friends in Guwahati.

"So far, we have come to know that he sent messages about his suicide to nine people". My detailed suicide note is kept in a Nike bag in room 742 of a five-star (name withheld) hotel in Delhi.

Around 6 pm, Pandey's family members had called senior Bihar police officers, telling them that they had received a message from him, in which he stated that he was going to kill himself. His body was found on the railway track at a yard near the station. The Bihar-cadre IAS officer was transferred from Katihar, where he was posted as deputy development commissioner.

On Friday, Pandey's friends and family reached the mortuary in Ghaziabad where his post-mortem was being conducted. Later they handed over the body. From the suicide notes and the video, it is clear that he committed suicide. "Whatever TV channels are showing is baseless", RP Singh, Father-in-law of DM Buxar said.
