'GLOW': Netflix Renews Women's Wrestling Comedy For Season 2

The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling are set to return.

What do you guys think of the news about GLOW season 2? GLOW's impact on professional wrestling is easy to see even today; the league was the first to place female wrestlers squarely in the spotlight and elevated ringside antics to new heights. Its 10 episode first season was so easily devourable, and perfectly walked the line between comedy and drama, with lots of fun 1980s references and some authentic wrestling detail thrown in for good measure. Alison Brie (Community, Sleeping With Other People) stars, along with Betty Gilpin (Nurse Jackie, True Story) and Marc Maron (Almost Famous, Marc Maron: Thinky Pain). Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann executive producers alongside Flahive and Mensch who are serving as showrunners.

The Season 2 announcement came from the official Netflix Twitter, along with a short teaser clip of a women's lips covered in sparkly lipstick, perhaps a hint of the costume changes coming for the ladies.

Like Orange Is the New Black, GLOW, inspired by the short-lived but beloved show from the '80s, has been a critical and pop culture hit. GLOW Season 2 shouldn't be a surprise.
