'Mr. Robot' Season 3 Premiere Date Revealed In Cryptic New Teaser

You don't know him yet, of course; he's the latest addition to Mr. Robot's ensemble cast, a "laconic, no-nonsense used vehicle salesman" to be played by the esteemed Bobby Cannavale. As you might recall, convinced that Tyrell was not real, Elliot tried to undo the firmware hack, but was shot by the very real Tyrell in the process.

The new trailer is tense, showing the aftermath of season 2.

Set to a recitation of Leonard Cohen's "Democracy", the lyrics build an excellent sense of dread as the clip continues.

The teaser promises dark times ahead in the trailer as Rami Malek's Elliot slowly disintegrate from Mr Robot. It seems like more of a horror movie than a dramatic television series.

U.S. released the new trailer after a complicated social media scavenger hunt, involving decoding a series of tweets that led to a hidden URL. The trailer was unveiled by the showrunners on the official social media handles of the series.

A "tweet storm" ensued, the cable channel says, revealing clues to a private url where fans were able to watch the trailer and be among the first to learn the premiere date. Creator Sam Esmail has made no secret that Elliot will survive the injury, but the possibilities surrounding the fallout of the shooting are limitless - and it's highly probable that Irving is one of the many forms of said fallout.

The 10 episode third season stars Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson, Christian Slater as Mr. Robot, Portia Doubleday as Angela Moss, Carly Chaikin as Darlene, Martin Wallström as Tyrell Wellick, Grace Gummer as Dominique DiPierro, Michael Cristofer as Phillip Price, BD Wong as Whiterose, and Stephanie Corneliussen as Joanna Wellick.

Mr. Robot season 3 will premiere on October 11, 2017.
