Man wanted in 'Emoji Movie' lewdness complaint surrenders in NJ

Police in New Jersey are looking for a man they say was caught masturbating during a screening of The Emoji Movie at a cinema on opening day.

Officials asked the public for help identifying a man earlier in the week after a woman who brought her children to the PG-rated movie at Xscape Movie Theater last Friday reported the incident.

A few days later, Abraham Parnes, 43, turned himself in after an anonymous tip led police to his identification, News 12 reports.

As you've probably heard, The Emoji Movie is no good. The suspect, who was sitting alone in the back row, was kicked out of the theatre by staff after a mother went to complain to the manager. Movie theater management responded and escorted the man out of the theater.

Police have released a CCTV image of the suspect in the hope that someone will recognise him and come forward.

He was described as a heavy set white male with a goatee or beard, and at the time was wearing a white dress shirt, black trousers and a Yamaka.
