Darron Gibson to be disciplined after slamming Sunderland teammates in 'drunken tirade'

Sunderland have confirmed they will discipline Darron Gibson following the midfielder's explicit rant to a group of supporters.

One of the many problems with Sunderland's campaign was their discipline, as only Watford received more yellow cards than the Black Cats last season - with Gibson receiving four yellow cards in just 12 games.

There is too many people at the club who don't give a fuck [Lamine Kone] yes next one, [Jermain Lens] next one, [Wahbi Khazri] next one.

The only problem was, the Irishman was Darron Gibson, who now plays for the club.

As well as citing Gibson's incident as unhelpful to Grayson, Sutton also said that the former Preston manager is now in charge of a dressing room full of "pirates", at a club that is now a "cesspit".

"We will initiate our internal disciplinary process".

The group then reeled off three Sunderland players whom they thought Gibson might be referring to, and he said "right there's one" when asked about defender Lamine Kone.

"Darron has apologised this morning".

"I mean for him to say those things he's a renegade isn't he?" In this day and age, everybody knows everybody has a camera phone.

"This is a club that for years, well it's been coming hasn't it". Privately they'll probably look to sell him and be touting him around, but it's not that easy.

"He's got a job to get Sunderland anywhere near the play-offs, and things like this don't help", he added.

You might well expect that the Irishman is set to face some uncomfortable music when he returns to training next week. It's not a sackable offence.
