'Monster Hunter Stories' western release announced, Free demo out this month

The game was originally made available for the Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming console in October a year ago.

Also in a related news, in order to celebrate the release of the Nintendo Switch version, an original Palico made in collaboration with karaoke brand Joysound -named Joyrou- will be available to download from the full game's release date on August 25.

"The popular "Monster Hunter" spin-off video game, titled "#Monster Hunter Stories", is finally coming to #North America.

The trailer also confirms that the North American release will be the same as the previously confirmed European release.

8 and will be priced at around $40. The demo will be made available to download and play from the 3DS E-shop starting on August 10.

Capcom has been coy on whether the game will receive a western localisation, but are preparing to go loud in their home country with a Limited Edition and console bundle.

In Monster Hunter Stories, players enter a colorful world and assume the role of a Monster Rider. Unlike other titles in the franchise, Stories has a bright, cartoony art style with more conventional big-eyed anime characters. Players can fly, swim and crash into new areas of the map; discover eggs to collect and hatch; and participate in turn-based battles with a party of up to five monsters. Weapon and armor crafting will still be present but in a more limited capacity.
