DIG exposes Sasikala's cushy life in jail, transferred

The three page report reportedly contains information on videos of her interaction with prisoners on critical issues, a few of which were again deleted by the jail staff, and a few CCTV cameras near Sasikala's cell deliberately being kept non-functional.

On the other hand, state Law Minister T.B. Jayachandran said he is not aware of the transfer, adding that whosoever is wrong will face the consequences.

D Roopa was transferred to the traffic department on Monday morning, days after she exposed AIADMK General Secretary Sasikala.

Rao reacted to the allegations saying it as "absolutely false, baseless and wild", and said he would take legal recourse against his junior.

Roopa came into limelight for exposing irregularities at Bengaluru Parappana Agrahara Central prison, where Sasikala is lodged.

The Chief Minister pointed out that despite the immediate institution of inquiry into the irregularities; both Roopa and Director General of Police (Prisons) H N Sathyanarayana Rao went to the media to discuss the case.

When things are going smooth, IPS officer Roopa Moudgil stepped out with an allegation that DIG (Jails) Satyanarayana Rao along with his subordinates have been bribed by Sasikala for special treatment in the jail she has been residing in.

The officer could have approached any of her senior officers about her allegations that. The Siddaramaiah-led government also slapped a notice on Roopa on how her communication to her high er-ups was leaked to the media.

According to Roopa's report, Sasikala's wasn't the only beneficiary.

She had also revealed that special treatment also being extended to Abdul Karim Telgi, convicted in fake stamp paper scam.

A Deputy Inspector General, D Roopa has been transferred to the traffic department. "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds the Home portfolio, talks volumes about transparency and corruption-free administration, but he too lowered the dignity of the Chief Minister's office", the JD (S) leader said.
