Mamma Mia sequel adds Christine Baranski and Lily James

Baranski starred as Diane Lockhart for seven seasons on "The Good Wife" and is now reprising her role in the CBS All Access spinoff "The Good Fight".

Lily is currently starring in the film Baby Driver, in theaters right now.

According to Deadline, James will play "Young Donna" in flashbacks while Oscar-winner Streep returns as the older version of the character.

The British actress, rising star and recent Baby Driver actress Lily James seems to be taking the world by storm one epic movie at a time, because now she's landed herself a role in the sequel to the hit musical, Mamma Mia!

Writing and directing is being handled by Ol Parker who previously wrote both The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and directed Now is Good and Imagine Me and You.

Downton Abbey's Lily James has reportedly joined the star-studded cast of the sequel to Mamma Mia!

The 2008 film was an adaptation of the stage musical based on the ABBA discography. It once more brings the producers of the original movie, Littlestar's Judy Craymer and Playtone's Gary Goetzman, together. Craymer was also the creator and producer of the smash-hit stage musical. Yes, ABBA has a ton of hits, but with all of the group's hit songs already covered in the first movie, the sequel might have to add some more variety to its pool of artists. Universal's Senior Vice President of production Kristen Lowe and Creative Executive Lexi Barta will oversee production for the studio.
