Ex-NFL player Lawrence Taylor pleads guilty to Florida DUI

Taylor pleaded guilty on Monday to a charge of driving under the influence after he crashed into a police cruiser in Florida a year ago, according to multiple reports.

Former NFL star and Dancing with the Stars contestant Lawrence Taylor has pleaded guilty to driving with alcohol in his system last September according to PEOPLE magazine. Nearly five hours after the crash, his blood-alcohol content measured at 0.082%, above the legal limit of 0.08%, according to his arrest report. The report also claims he has been smoking cigars, smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. When asked by an officer if he'd been drinking, Taylor replied, "Apparently too much".

For his latest conviction Taylor was placed on probation for a year, his license was suspended for nine months, he will pay $1,500 in court costs and fines and he will perform community service.

Since retiring, Taylor has had a long list of legal troubles.

Taylor played 13 seasons with the Giants.

Talyor struggled with drug and alcohol issues during his playing career. According to the Sun-Sentinel, he pleaded guilty in 2011 to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute, admitted he had sex in a NY hotel with an underage prostitute he thought was 19.

In that case, the 57-year-old was sentenced to six years of probation.
