Dani Alves rubbishes 'sh*t' claims as Man City close in

DANI ALVES could have his Juventus contract cancelled - and that would open up the possibility of talks with Chelsea and Manchester City, according to reports in Italy.

Many still consider Barcelona's decision to let the Brazilian depart to Juventus as a big mistake and now, Manchester City are looking to lure the 34-year old away from Juventus.

With a couple more years of top level football left within Alves, this could be a smart move for everyone involved.

Dani Alves is prepared to call time on his spell with Juventus, after just a single season, in order to reunite with former coach Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Pep previously worked together with Alves at Barcelona during his four years in charge at the Nou Camp and both of them has a very good relationship.

That leaves the inexperienced Pablo Maffeo in that position, with Alves and Tottenham's Kyle Walker identified as leading targets.

As the transfer window inches ever closer to opening, the rumour and speculation continues to flow - and, as ever, Manchester City feature heavily. The right-back was particularly outstanding in the semi-final victory against Monaco, getting involved in his side's first three goals over the two-legged tie before scoring the fourth.

A move for Tottenham's Kyle Walker has failed to reach a breakthrough, with the London club holding out for a fee in excess of £40 million (S$70.7 million) for the England global.

Guardiola knows Alves well having brought the Brazil worldwide to Barcelona from Sevilla for £23m in 2008.

Alves has continued to go from strength to strengthsince his move to Juventus last summer, many might have been wary with Alves reaching the age of 34 but he was a crucial part in Juve winning Serie A, Coppa Italia and reaching the Champions League final.

If he signs for City, the Brazilian will become their third signing of the summer after they landed Bernardo Silva and Ederson.
