Former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry joins Bayern Munich

Gnabry will join the Bundesliga champions on July 1, boosting manager Carlo Ancelotti's options on the wings alongside Arjen Robben, Kingsley Coman, Douglas Costa and Franck Ribery.

Last summer Gnabry, who was entering the past year of his Arsenal contract, amazingly scored six goals to end as top scorer in the Olympic football tournament, and was subsequently sold to Werder Bremen in a cut-price deal before the transfer window closed.

Gnabry, 21, scored eleven goals in 27 appearances for Werder last season after joining from Premier League giants Arsenal.

Gnabry initially impressed after his 2016 move from Arsenal, making his Germany debut, but eventually became a peripheral figure under Alexander Nouri and started just one Bundesliga game in the final two months of the campaign. There were rumours that Bayern Munich had used Bremen as a conduit to get a better price on the 21 year old, as even Wenger admitted in January in a pre-match press conference....

Bayern Munich have pounced to sign attacking midfielder Serge Gnabry, days after his departure from Werder Bremen was confirmed.

"I would have hoped for some more perseverance from Serge", Filbry told Werderstube. "Maybe he opted for the easiest way. We were successful and won".

"We got him a year ago for a certain sum; now we're selling him again for a certain sum", he added.
