Altuve out of Astros' lineup a day after collision

Altuve crashed into right fielder Teoscar Hernandez while the two were chasing a popup in the eighth inning of Houston's 4-2 win.

Two Houston Astros players had to be helped from the field after this frightful accident against the Cleveland Indians.

Altuve managed to avoid a concussion when he collided with teammate Teoscar Hernandez on Tuesday night, but the Astros are going to give him the night off anyway.

Unfortunately, neither of the pair communicated with the other, crashing into each other at full speed.

"I'm a little sore, but I'm feeling better", he said.

Houston is 10-2 since April 11 and leads the AL West at 14-6. The Indians are receiving solid production out of Francisco Lindor, who is turning into one of the top two-way players in the league (1.1 WAR) as well as Jose Ramirez and a healthy Michael Brantley.

East Texan and Indians pitcher Josh Tomlin had a rough start to the season, but will take the mound on Tuesday night coming off his best outing and first win of 2017. However, right fielder Brandon Guyer grounded into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning.

Houston began the fifth with four straight hits, including Norichika Aoki's RBI single that tied the game.

The Indians aren't doing too bad either, entering the day with a record of 10-8 after a 5-1 road trip.

Hernandez was called up from Triple-A earlier in the day and was making his first big league appearance of the season.

Astros: RHP Lance McCullers allowed three hits and struck out eight in 6 2/3 scoreless innings against the Angels on April 20.
