Trucker Who Dragged Another Car Along For Miles: 'I Didn't Know It'

Brian Steimke was traveling on the northbound 15 freeway ascending up the Cajon pass when he saw a burgundy 1996 Nissan Maxima partially stuck under the rig. The truck-a tandem-trailer-appears to have hooked its rear wheels into the red Nissan, leaving the car's driver honking his horn in a vain attempt to be noticed.

A driver spotted another motorist in a precarious situation along a California highway: his destroyed vehicle was being dragged by a semi truck.

The video, which was uploaded to Facebook, showed major damage to the passenger side of the auto.

Steimke approaches the truck driver and asks him why he was driving so far.

The Nissan's windshield is shattered, its hood crumpled and airbag deployed; the tires can be heard flapping against the pavement.

"I didn't know it", the driver responds.

Steimke sped ahead, and eventually confronted the truck driver.

"What do you mean you didn't know, dude?"

Another vehicle appears to have stopped the big rig by getting in front of the truck.

At that point, Steimke's camera gets closer to the rear of the truck, where the Nissan remains attached. According to the California Highway Patrol, this crash is not considered a criminal incident.
