Posh day at palace: Victoria Beckham gets royal recognition

She has launched collaborations with Estée Lauder for a Victoria Beckham make-up collection, and with United States retailer Target for an affordable clothing collection, due to go on sale this spring.

She said: "It was an absolute pleasure to be at Buckingham Palace today".

It was announced last December that she would be included in the Queen's Honours List for 2017, saying at the time that she was "delighted and humbled for the recognition". Thanks to her ever popular designs, which have been worn by the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet and Eva Longoria, she went on to win the Best Brand prize at the British Fashion Awards in both 2011 and 2014.

David Beckham, former England football captain, was made an OBE in 2003.

'I'm proud to be British, honoured and humble to receive it, ' said the 43-year-old, recognised for her services to fashion and charity.

"If you dream big and work hard you can accomplish great things", she added.

The former pouty pop star, who rose to fame as Posh Spice with the Spice Girls in the '90s, was honoured by her friend Prince William at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. For Victoria, her philanthropic work as a UNAIDS goodwill ambassador was very important, she travelled with her kids to Africa where they fought for the rights of women with HIV who suffer prejudice and discrimination in their communities.

The insider divulged: "Victoria is incredibly proud of the fashion brand she has built and ever thankful for her incredible team".

Meanwhile, Olympic gold-medallist Jessica Ennis-Hill was made a Dame during today's ceremony, while Academy and Tony award-winning actor Mark Rylance was knighted for his services to theatre.
