Malia Obama stalker detained

Just because she's a former first daughter doesn't mean that her spring style isn't eminently relatable: Malia Obama is striding into the season with a little shirtdress swagger.

Malia Obama's day at the office was interrupted by a guy asking her to marry him. and her Secret Service agents took him into custody because he has a bad track record with the White House.

On 10 April, Cardoso reportedly climbed to the fourth floor of Malia's work building and hung a proposal banner, sources said, before being removed by secret service agents, the New York Daily News reports.

He was kicked out by two Secret Service agents assigned to Malia's detail.

Two days later Cardoso, 30, followed Obama out of a building in the West Village where she also interns, sources said. The alleged stalker did this again on the April 11 and 12, according to sources who spoke to NBC, so that he could have access to her father, former president Barack Obama, and get "help for his country". Agents interviewed Cardoso in his Brooklyn apartment and then took him to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. They told him to go away and leave her alone, sources said.

The agents reported the man to the Manhattan police department, who has not yet filed charges but is reportedly considering doing so on stalking or harassment counts.

The Secret Service is in the process of obtaining an order of protection against Cardoso, which would ban him from stepping foot on all Weinstein properties, sources said.

The 18-year-old is set to start school at Harvard College in the fall.
