History Created, Who Will Win All-Indian Final at Singapore Open?

Singapore City: Indian men's singles shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth and Sai Praneeth have created history in the badminton superseries tournament by making it an all-India affair in the Singapore Open final to be played tomorrow (Sunday).

Praneeth was the first to make it to the summit clash after he executed his plans brilliantly to completely blow away his opponent in a 38-minute match. Nehwal had suffered a first round defeat at the Malaysia Open Superseries Premier last week.

Srikanth Kidambi of India plays a shot against Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia during the men's singles semi-final of the Singapore Open badminton tournament in Singapore on April 15, 2017. The 21-year-old, who won the French Superseries title last year, came close to winning the All England Championships last month after beating Lin in the semi-final but the world number eight lost to Lee Chong Wei in the title match. Praneeth zoomed to a 9-1 lead in the second game.

Lee also struggled in the second game against the world No. 30 and trailed 4-11 at the changeover.

During the semi-final, Srikanth showed his experience against Ginting.

But from thereon, Indian didn't allowed any breathing room to Tanongsak and maintained a two point advantage, claimed the decider 21-19. It seemed like one-way traffic with the Indian reaching 9-1 in no time. He managed to narrow the margin to 14-17.

Sung beat Sun Yu 21-13, 21-16 while Marin overcame PV Sindhu 21-11, 21-15.
