Kevin Durant, Warriors Reportedly Angry At Thunder Over His Oklahoma City Return

Unexpectedly, Durant was met with vitriol as Thunder fans rained down insults and chants throughout the contest.

As the Warriors get set to visit Oklahoma City for the second time this season on Monday night, Golden State brass is reportedly furious over the harsh reception Kevin Durant received the last time the two teams met at Chesapeake Energy Arena on February 11.

Durant joined the Warriors from the Thunder last summer as a free agent in one of the most controversial moves in recent National Basketball Association history. He is expected to remain in the locker room and receive treatment during the game. The Warriors will be without Kevin Durant and that means that the feud between him and Russell Westbrook will be on hold.

Westbrook recorded 24 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds during Wednesday's 123-102 rout of the host Toronto Raptors and is averaging 26.3 points, 15.5 assists and 11.5 rebounds during Oklahoma City's current four-game winning streak. Can he get a measure of redemption with Durant out?

The streaky Doug McDermott had 21 points in 21 minutes off the bench for the Thunder, while Georgios Papagiannis had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Sacramento. Overshadowed by his fractured bond with Durant is Westbrook's feud with Pachulia.

"We're getting it together, man", Westbrook said. "Straight up." Pachulia was sidelined for these two teams' previous meeting with a strained right rotator cuff, so Monday marks his first time facing Westbrook since that incident. If they want to be able to keep working toward the top seed in the Western Conference, defeating Oklahoma City on the road would be a huge start. They're a playoff team, so we've got to get ready. "We just need to focus on the defensive end, play with an edge".
