Drake Breaks Two Spotify Records With "More Life"

DRAKE's "More Life" playlist debuted last SATURDAY night (MARCH 18th) on SPOTIFY, and shattered two of the records recent set by ED SHEERAN's "Divide". The new album comes as being first celebrated on the OVO Sound Radio Show alongside OVO founder Oliver El-Khatib.

Less than a year ago, on April 29, he released Views, an album that was to become Drake's most commercially successful album, holding the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for ten weeks. Earlier in his career, his OVO blogspot page offered up between-album tracks that hinted at potential new musical directions.

The song, titled Free Smoke, includes the lyrics, "I drunk text J. Lo / Old numbers so I bounce back / Boy Wonder gotta bounce back". He drops oblique references to his ongoing war with Meek and Rick Ross on "Can't Have Everything" ("Tell your big homie I'm all for going there again"), but otherwise More Life is as convivial as the album title promised. The playlist features collaborations with musicians such as Kanye West and UK-based performers like Skepta. "That's why he's trying to call it a playlist because he has a bunch of people in a space, hanging out". Hov has claimed to be far ahead of his Drake in accomplishments, while Drake has said he still has several years to catch up ("Man, I'm only 29, have some patience with us", Drake rapped on the song "Sneakin'").

As Drake fans revel in this, they still get to know there's more to come from him: "More time with family and friends". Arriving almost a year after the superstar rapper's staggeringly successful album "Views", it's instead described as a "playlist" curated by October Firm (a.k.a. Drake and OVO cofounder Oliver El-Khatib).

Meanwhile, the song "Teenage Fever" samples JLo's "If You Had My Love". "They smile in my face / Whole time they wanna take my place", he raps on "Fake Love". Not something you would expect from Drake but I love it.
