Locals Bid Farewell to Music Legend Chuck Berry

Musicians and entertainers reacted to the death of music icon Chuck Berry, who died at age 90 on Saturday in his home in Missouri. First responders were unsuccessful in reviving him and pronounced him dead at 1:26 p.m. local time.

Here's a photographic look at his legacy. Among other big-screen Berry moments, Marty McFly (aka Michael J. Fox) gets into a little "Johnny B. Goode" action in 1985's "Back to the Future".

Berry's influence was not limited to musicians.

Musical stars are paying tribute to Chuck Berry after the influential performer died aged 90.

"RIP Chuck Berry. Without him Rock n Roll wouldn't be what it came to be. instagram.com/p/BRzA-bpDNY7/", tweeted rocker Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crue.

Chuck Berry, long considered to be one of the forefathers of the rock genre, has passed away, according to ABC.

"This record is dedicated to my beloved Toddy", Berry said in the release, naming his wife, Thermetta Berry.

Berry accrued a pretty long criminal record in his time, but a much longer lasting impact on the memories of those who grew up with him on the turn table.

It is no wonder that this legend has fans in our very own Bollywood too, who took to social media to share their thoughts and feelings about the musician. His hits included "Maybellene", "Roll Over Beethoven", "Rock and Roll Music" and "Johnny B. Goode", and not a day goes by, if you listen closely, that you don't hear echoes of Berry's music in contemporary sounds. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer patterned her guitar playing on Berry's style and hailed his influence. I'm going to dig out my Chuck Berry blond Gibson and play some of his songs tonight and I'm going to re-read his biography.

Though Berry had several health issues in recent years, he seemed thrilled last year when he announced that he had completed "Chuck", an album of new material that he planned to release this year. Charlie Daniels, a fellow music legend, called Berry "The greatest rock and roll lyricist ever" and hoped he would "rest in peace". He was dissed by Berry for being late, even when he was actually early to the meeting.

Speaking with ABC News a few years ago, Berry was asked to name the favorite songs he's written, but he said he couldn't choose one.
