Kellyanne Conway's husband George 'set for top job at Justice Department'

Two months after citing "alternative facts" to defend the stated attendance of President Trump's inauguration, White House adviser Kellyanne Conway is still working to rebuild her image as a credible source of information.

The husband of controversial senior adviser to Donald Trump is now a partner at NY law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz but is allegedly tipped for a role change.

As the Journal notes, Conway's biography says that he has "worked on major securities law cases and deal litigation".

And when President Donald Trump says he'll do everything in his power to overturn Roe v. Wade, abortion rights activists don't think exclusively about "public policy" - they think first of the women who would die from botched procedures in the absence of safe and legal abortion.

But last week, two other federal judges - one in Hawaii and one in Maryland - moved to block the revised order, suggesting that it probably constituted religious discrimination and was in essence a back-door Muslim ban of the sort Trump promised during his presidential campaign. If George Conway is confirmed by the Senate, he would be responsible for defending lawsuits against the administration.

Judges in Hawaii and Maryland halted the implementation of the ban, which is created to prevent citizens from six majority-Muslim countries from entering the US.

Conway was also part of the legal team that represented Paula Jones, the former Arkansas state employee who filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Bill Clinton during his presidency.

Kellyanne Conway gave a play-by-play at the National Review Institute's Ideas Summit in Washington on March 17th. If Trump would have made Kellyanne his Press Secretary during that period, then the press would be more interested in Conway than the goings on in the administration. A longtime Republican pollster, she is credited with helping turn around the Trump campaign when the candidate was trailing Hillary Clinton. She is also close with the president's daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, another influential voice in Trump's inner circle.
