NC Central getting ready for tonight's play-in game against UC Davis

If Kansas, which is trying to get to the Final Four for the first time since 2012, can advance past UC Davis, it will set up an intriguing matchup with the victor between No. 8-seed Miami and No. 9 Michigan State.

Entering the NCAA Tournament, the Kansas Jayhawks didn't know if they were going to face the UC Davis Aggies or the North Carolina Central Eagles.

The 16th-seeded Aggies rallied in the second half and held off N.C. Central down the stretch to earn a trip to Tulsa to play No. 1 seed Kansas on Friday.

Les is in his sixth season at UC-Davis, which will make its first Division I appearance in the NCAA Tournament after claiming the Big West Tournament.

Sitting in front of his locker inside BOK Center during Thursday's final tune-up for the start of the Jayhawks' 2017 NCAA Tournament run, Jackson discussed how the disappointment of that one-game suspension has weighed heavily on his mind since the day he sat out.

KU has been a No. 1 seed in seven of Bill Self's 14 seasons in Lawrence, including this year's NCAA Tournament journey which will begin in Tulsa.

Even after an extreme regular season form, the Big 12 Conference top seed lost 85-82 to TCU in Big 12 tournament quarterfinals.

Providence outshot Southern Cal 49 percent to 42 percent, but the Friars outscored them in the second half 46-27. Like he said after the game, he's not afraid of anybody and I really respect hearing that from him.

"I felt like that matched with my personality and the way that I play". We got some good practice.

Providence had the game well in hand but went cold in the second half and let Southern Cal muscle back into it.

No matter who they are playing or what the outcome is, Les said the Aggies, which include redshirt freshman Joe Mooney from Notre Dame, are ready to compete.

"Unfortunately, it will take away a little bit from the experience of the game and how great of an experience this was for us, " coach Mark Slessinger said.

"A year ago at this time, I was on spring break, watching them in the tournament", Vang said of his teammates. Les took his alma mater, Bradley, to the Sweet 16 in 2006. "We should've been better prepared for this game. There's pressure in it, but when you're at this level and we've been through so much with each other, we've just kind of got a good feel for what we've got going on and we don't have to be real tight or tense and we can just try to go out and play loose and have fun". "I tell them all the time there isn't anything I didn't experience from being a guy that came off the bench the last guy on the bench to being a starter to being the leading scorer to being the guy who scored the least. But, to me, he's always given everything he's got on the court". (Seniors) Frank (Mason III), Landen (Lucas), Tyler (Self), I just want to make this one for them to remember for sure.

Jackson did explain that he feels like he "made a couple mistakes that could have been avoided, small mistakes" but said there's nothing he can do about it now. So I've got to navigate that.

UC Davis covered 6 times since the beginning of their uprise (with one push) and has stringed 7 unders (with an average line of 135.5 points). "And I have a lot of coaching friends around the country".

"We got a lot of rest". I know what pressure is.
