Ronald Koeman issues Ross Barkley ultimatum: Commit or leave

Everton are still hoping to convince their star to agree an extended deal, but the 23-year-old Belgian striker appears determined to force a transfer to a bigger club.

The news will come as a relief for the Goodison Park faithful - who are having to deal with the prospect of their club's all-time record top goalscorer Romelu Lukaku leaving after putting a hold on his contract talks.

"I don't think it will be Chelsea or Tottenham but they spend money to play Champions League and one or two of them will not play in the Champions League". "Normally you make decisions at the end of the season, and you need to sign a new contract or you sell the player".

You have to think ahead. I don't want to go into details on that but you just follow the path that is in front of you.

Or at least they are "weighing up" a summer bid and "carefully following the situations" of both Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley, with a view to spending £100m on the pair in the summer, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Everton academy recruit has featured 26 times in the league for the Toffees this season, scoring four goals and has importantly set up seven more for his team-mates.

"Then like sometimes I will speak to Vincent Kompany who was at (Manchester) City when it all happened".

"Every player has ambition, likes to play for titles, play in the Champions League. That is what we want as players".

The Spain worldwide has been a key player for the Red Devils this campaign, despite many wondering whether he had a future at Old Trafford when Jose Mourinho took charge of the club last summer.

"At the minute I am one of the best strikers in the league", added Lukaku.
