Lynch, who turns 31 on April 22, has repeatedly said he has no intentions of returning to the National Football League, even for his hometown team in Oakland.
Along with Lynch, another running back that has been linked to the Raiders is Adrian Peterson.
Lynch is from Oakland and has said in the past he's always wanted to play for the Raiders. His retirement may not turn out to last long after all, it could be cut short for a simple reason, his love for the game. "I'm done. I'm not playing football anymore". "Now it's time to watch my cousins do they thing", he told 60 Minutes Sports last June. Although he retired after the 2015 season, it would still require a trade with Seattle or a release to complete the deal.
There's one sticking point in the Raiders' possible pursuit of Lynch: He's still on the Seahawks' reserve/retired list, meaning Seattle still holds his rights.
Lynch is fourth all-time in rushing yards for the Seahawks with 6,347, having been acquired in a trade with Buffalo in October, 2010 and playing through the 2015 season before retiring.
