PDRM obtains Interpol Red Notice to arrest four N. Korean nationals

Malaysia has used a DNA sample from one of Kim Jong-Nam's children to confirm the identity of the assassinated half-brother of North Korea's leader Kim Jong-Un, the deputy prime minister said today.

"The DNA has been taken and brought to Malaysia".

The decision to hold Kim Jong Nam's body - and conduct an autopsy - angered the North Koreans.

One is of Vietnam national and the other is from Indonesia.

VX is a fast-acting toxin that causes respiratory collapse and heart failure.

"We have obtained the red notice for the four North Korean men who were at the airport during the incident", Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar told local media on Thursday afternoon.

Authorities from both countries have said the women believed they were participating in a prank TV show, but Malaysian authorities do not believe that's true.

Two foreign women have been charged with his murder, but police are still seeking the four North Koreans whom they believe to be masterminds of the attack.

The deputy prime minister also said that the Malaysian government has no intention of interfering with North Korean domestic affairs, but the North should ask itself whether it is respecting the global organizations' decisions and resolutions and its obligations under them. Four Malaysian diplomats are being refused exit from North Korea, according to CNN.

Experts say the VX nerve agent used to kill Kim was nearly certainly produced in a sophisticated state weapons laboratory, and North Korea is widely believed to possess large quantities of chemical weapons.

Kim Jong Nam was the eldest son of former North Korean leader Kim Jong Il.

Malaysia has not directly blamed North Korea for the assassination, but there is widespread suspicion Pyongyang was behind it.

Two more North Korean suspects, 37-year-old Kim Uk Il, a member of staff of the North Korea's national airline Air Koryo, and the 44-year-old Hyon Kwang Song, who worked as a second secretary at the DPRK Embassy in Malaysia, are said to be in hiding at the DPRK Embassy in Malaysia.

Malaysia have since retaliated and also banned North Koreans from leaving.

A leading regional security expert told the AFP news agency last month that it would not have been hard to get VX into Malaysia in a diplomatic pouch, which would not be subject to regular customs checks.

Subramaniam said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak might make an announcement after studying the demand of Jong-nam's next-of-kin.

Mr Noor Rashid declined to elaborate on where and when discussions with Mr Kim Jong Nam's family took place.

Seoul's unification ministry earlier said North Korea's "show-off" project targets the privileged class in Pyongyang, not ordinary North Koreans.
